Prof. Dr. Winiati P. Rahayu as a WHO consultant/ trainer of Staff Training and Setting up Food Safety Laboratory in Timor Leste
Republic Democratic Timor Leste (RDTL) has the National Health Laboratory under Ministry of Health which has been able to provide laboratory test for general health needs. In case of food safety test, the National Health Laboratory need to be developed. To improve the capacity and capability of Food Safety Laboratory in RDTL, WHO Timor Leste support the Ministry of Health RDTL by conducting Staff Training and Setting up Food Safety Laboratory Equipment in Timor Leste.
The training was held at 11th – 15th June 2012 which was consisted of Lectures from the trainer (about Food Safety Laboratory Design, Food Safety Test, Good Laboratory Practices), Workshop of Standard Operating Procedures, Working Instruction, and Monitoring Form making, and Laboratory Setting up. The result of the evaluation from 15 participants showed a high relevancy of the training materials with their work (93%), and hopes (86%). The participants (57 and 36%) said that the training theory was excellent and good, they (79%) said that working group was good, and 71% of them said that the trainer was excellent.
